The Criteria for Lateral Transfer to Our University's Graduate Programs from Other Universities Are as Follows:

  1. The minimum requirements applicable to the application criteria of the Graduate School of Science programs are also valid for lateral transfers. The exam scores obtained by the student when registering for the graduate program at AGÜ can be used for lateral transfer, and the validity period of these scores will not be considered.
  2. The student must have completed at least one semester in a graduate program of another higher education institution related to the program they wish to transfer to and must have taken at least two courses (100% English) and passed each course with a minimum of 3 out of 4.
  3. After the transfer, the student must retake thesis, specialization field course, and seminar course at AGÜ, even if they have already taken them in the previous program.
  4. If the program to be transferred to is a doctoral program, the student must take AGÜ's doctoral qualifying exam, whether or not they have taken the qualifying exam of the program they wish to transfer to.
  5. Course Recognition Criterion: A maximum of 3 credits of courses successfully completed in English at 100% in the program left, which are to be recognized in the program to be transferred to, can be counted. The student must have passed these courses with a minimum of 3 out of 4. The recognition of the course requires the favorable opinion of the department chair and the approval of the Institute Management Board.

The Criteria for Lateral Transfer Within Our University's Departments or Between Programs Within a Department Are as Follows:

Students wishing to transfer from a master's program in the Institute to any integrated doctoral program; subject to the conditions set by the Council of Higher Education for integrated doctoral applications, shall apply to the relevant department chairmanship according to the graduate application calendar announced by the Institute. The general principles determined by the Institute are applied in evaluating the applications of these students to the integrated doctoral program. After starting the integrated doctoral program, the student can recognize all the credit courses successfully completed in the master's program at our University with the recommendation of the department chairmanship and the approval of the Institute Management Board. The seminar course must be taken separately in the doctorate.

The transfer from a doctoral program in the Institute to any master's program occurs with the approval of the department chairmanship conducting the master's program and the approval of the Institute Management Board. The student making the transfer should be in at most the 5th semester of the doctoral program. All credit courses taken and successfully completed in the doctoral program can be recognized with the recommendation of the department chairmanship conducting the master's program and the approval of the Institute Management Board. The student transferring to the master's program must spend at least one semester in the master's program before graduation.
